Ralph Vernon Rudolph, 76, of Wimbledon died on Friday, October 11, 2019 at Ave Maria Village, Jamestown. Ralph was born in Jamestown on May 16, 1943 to Russell and Eileen (Kuhlmann) Rudolph. He graduated from Wimbledon High School in 1961.
After high school he trained as a depot agent for the Burlington Northern & Soo Line Railroad. In 1965 he joined the North Dakota National Guard and did basic training at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He worked for the railroad until 1967. He then started farming with his dad and brother. He loved the land, hunting, fishing, and his red 1963 Ford. After retiring from farming, he worked for Cenex hauling propane for 20 years.
On April 1, 1967 he married Sonja Cook of Carrington, the daughter of Susan (Cook) Silkey, at St. Paul’s Lutheran in Wimbledon, ND. To this union, three daughters were born. Adele Rudolph of Carrington, Paula (Bill) Mohs of Tacoma, WA and Susan Rudolph of Salem, OR. Ralph and Sonja were married for 53 years. Ralph was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran and the Wimbledon Community his entire life. He was also a member of the HiWay 9 Car Club, Senior Citizens and American Legion.
He dearly loved his grandchildren; Chloe Mohs of Tacoma, WA and Mason McManus of Salem, OR.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Sonja of Wimbledon, daughters; Adele of Carrington, Paula (Bill) Mohs of Tacoma, WA, Susan of Salem, OR, grandchildren; Chloe Mohs, Mason McManus, and his brother, Ray (Della) Rudolph.
Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 17, 2019 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Wimbledon with Pastor Robert Hill officiating.
Burial: Prairie View Cemetery, Wimbledon, ND.
Arrangements are in the care of Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.
