Susan Louise Sad, 70, Jamestown, ND died peacefully at home on Saturday, September 16, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Sue was born May 26, 1953 in San Diego, California to Maurice and Ardyce (Peterson) Vaughn.
She attended primary school in San Diego and received her Associates Degree in Surgical Technology from Grossmont College, also in San Diego.
On August 20, 1977 she married Harold Sad in La Mesa, California. The couple began their family in La Mesa where they raised two daughters, Becky and Laura and a son, Jim.
In 1992, the family moved to Jamestown to continue to raise their three young children. Sue became an intricate part of the Jamestown Public School System as a Para Educator for 15 years. She then became a cashier at Walmart and worked there for 13 years before retiring in 2023.
Sue enjoyed the outdoors whether it was hunting, fishing or camping. She loved traveling with her husband and dogs to Custer, SD & Medora. She also enjoyed watching her daughters play softball and her son in rodeos. She especially loved her time with her grandbabies.
Sue is survived by her husband, Harold of 46 years; daughters Becky and Laura (Adam) Thoelke, all of Bismarck; son Jim (Payton) and their children, Stetson & Briggs of Fingal; extended family in San Diego, Indiana, Texas and Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her grand baby Sad, sister Cheryl Dauben and her mother and father.
Prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM, Friday, October 6, 2023 at Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown, ND. Memorial service will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Atonement Lutheran Church with Pastor Sharayah Robinson officiating.
