Margaret Mae (Guthmiller) Johnson

Margaret Mae Guthmiller (87) passed away on 11/15/2021 at Ave Maria Village, Jamestown ND, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on July 10, 1934, in Sidney township, the daughter of Fred and Katie (Koenig) Guthmiller Sr. She was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Jamestown, ND on November 4, 1934. She attended school in Sidney township and moved to Jamestown where she worked at Holters Cleaners, White Drug Café and Bonanza.

She met the love of her life, Jerome Johnson and they married in Jamestown ND on June 30, 1962. They lived on the family farm where Jerome farmed, and together they raised their family. They moved to Jamestown ND in 1980, Oakes ND in 1985 and returned to Jamestown ND in 1996. Margaret and Jerome loved to garden and share their amazing vegetables with others. Margaret also loved to bake and was one of the best. Her grandchildren (and entire family) looked forward to her amazing cut out cookies every holiday season and all the other amazing baked goods all year long. They never missed any of their grandchildren’s activities and loved to brag about all they had accomplished.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Sr. and Katie Guthmiller, her brothers John, Harry, Albert, Lesley, Richard, Fred Jr., James and Edward Guthmiller and her sister Mary Guthmiller.

She is survived by her sister Helen Hagel (Fargo), her two son’s Kevin (Larisa) Fargo and Rodney (Lisa) Johnson, Jamestown, and 4 grandchildren Lucas, Ben, Noah and Nyah.

Prayer Service: 7PM, Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Eddy Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: 1:00PM, Friday, November 19, 2021 at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Lucinda Lien officiating.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
