Linda Kiser Obituary

Linda Lue Kiser, 76, passed away on December 15th, 2021. She was born in Jamestown, ND on October 9, 1945 to Floyd Maisel Kramer and Phoebe Lue (Bredell) Kramer. She spent her younger years in Dickey, ND during the summers with her grandparents. Her parents divorced and Phoebe married James Wright. The family lived in California before moving to Chicago, IL and then to Park Forest where she graduated from Rich East high school in 1962 and began training in secretarial service. She eloped with her high school boyfriend, Robert Kiser on April 2, 1966. They had two sons, Richard Matthew and Douglas James.

Linda began her career as a secretary for Proctor and Gamble until 1978. She was then employed by the American Bar Assn. in the finance department and promoted to become the International Meetings coordinator for the ABA from 1975 to 1990, where she planned the accommodations for their annual meeting and many other large meetings. She then worked as secretary to the Dean of the University of Chicago Law School, retiring in 2003. She had several other positions after she left the city taking local part-time jobs until she retired.

Linda had a lifetime love of horses and dogs. She rode and trained horses in Dressage as well as training entry level riders. She was a member of the Illinois Dressage and Combined Training Assn. for many years. She was involved in Local and Regional Horse Show Management, Judging and Show Secretary Positions. She was a Technical Delegate for the American Dressage Assn.

Linda was an avid Chicago Bears fan and an even greater family supporter of her sons in baseball and football rarely missing a game. She was immensely proud of her boys accomplishments and then her grandsons in all their sport activities.

Linda is survived by her sons, Richard (Sharon) Kiser, Bourbonnais, IL, Douglas Kiser, Crete, IL, sisters: Susan (Lawrence) Goehring, Edgeley, ND, Rebecca Gear, Steele, ND, brother, Steve (Cindy) Kramer, Dickey, ND, grandsons: Robert, Hunter (Katherine), Richard, nieces: Cynthia (Mark) Engelke and family, Steele, ND, Dr. Christine Juhasz and sons, Allentown, PA, Holly Neys and family, Jamestown, ND, Nicole Kramer and daughters, Valley City, ND, nephews, Robert (Mary) Urban and daughters, Manteno, IL, Quinton (Vidette) Kramer and family, Watertown, SD, aunts: Elaine Millspaugh, Jamestown, ND, Phyllis Kramer, Dickey, ND, Marion Peterson, Bremerton, WA, Ruth (Jim) Lee, Elko, NV, uncle, Loren (Leone) Kramer, Breckenridge, MN, and many great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, parents, step-father, brother, Ross, several uncles, aunts, and a nephew.

In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials be sent to Dickey Cemetery, ASPCA, or other personal choice.

Committal Service: 11 AM, Friday, June 24th, 2022 at the Dickey Cemetery with Pastor Peg Zerface to officiate.
