Lilly S. Olson, 83, Jamestown, North Dakota died Sunday, July 14, 2002 at Hi Acres Manor, Jamestown, North Dakota.

Lilly Olson was born September 22, 1918 at Jamestown, North Dakota the daughter of Olaf R. and Marie (Johanson) Olson. She attended Jamestown Public Schools and graduated from Jamestown High School with the Class of 1937. Her first employment was with J.C. Penney Co., partime, in alterations and as a sales clerk. In December of 1938 she became full time employee of McElroy Company, a real estate sales and management company, as stenographer and bookkeeper and was also a licensed insurance agent for K. M. Moran Agency. In January of 1970 she left the business world and became a full time student at Jamestown College Fellow in art. She graduated with the Class of 1973 with a BA degree in Art Education after which she taught drawing through the Jamestown Park and Recreation Department, the Jamestown Fine Arts Association, and Jamestown College Educational Vacations; and she taught individuals and classes in her home. She also painted.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she served as financial secretary for 17 years, as treasure for 25 years, and sang in the chior for 50 years. She belonged to the Jamestown Fine Arts Assn., Lady Washington Chapter No. 1, O.E.S., and the P.E.O. Sisterhood, Chapter AB.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, Shirley Olson, Park Rapids, MN; 2 nephews, David Olson, Detriot Lakes, MN; and Kenneth (Tami) Olson, Long Beach, CA; a niece, Jane (Boyd) Lee, Jamestown, ND; a grand nephew, Thomas Lee, Jamestown, ND; and a grand niece, Vickie Lee, Detriot Lakes, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Harold.

Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Thursday, July 18, 2002 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Jamestown, North Dakota with Rev. JoAnne Moeller officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 9:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 17, 2002 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown, North Dakota.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota
