Ivy Klose, 87, of Jamestown, ND, passed away Saturday morning, April 29, 2023 at SMP Health – Ave Maria, Jamestown.
Ivy was born November 18, 1935, at Merricourt, ND, the youngest child and daughter of Henry and Johanna Giesler. She grew up on the family farm near Merricourt, ND and attended country school. Ivy later attended Joseph’s Beauty College in Fargo, ND and then moved to Jamestown. She worked for Ralph and Mildred Reisnour at their beauty salon where she met Gene Klose. They were united in marriage October 4, 1958 at St. James Catholic Church, Jamestown. They made their home on the Klose family farm south of Jamestown where Ivy enjoyed helping where needed, and tended to her garden, flower beds, cooking, baking, canning, and hosting her grandchildren.
She was an active member of Klose Homemakers and the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Jamestown, where she was a part of Women’s Fellowship, taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. Ivy was also a member of the V.F.W. and American Legion Auxiliary.
Ivy is survived by son, Leon Klose, Jamestown; two daughters, Lynn (Jeff) Stadum, Pelican Rapids, MN and Laura (John) Wright, Valley City, ND; 8 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 9 siblings; and grandson, Grant. She was the last of her family.
Funeral Service – 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 4, 2023 at First Congregational United Church of Christ, Jamestown.
Visitation – 1:00 p.m., to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.
Prayer Service - 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.
Burial – North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
