Fred Grabinger, 83, of Jamestown, ND, passed away Sunday morning, October 17, 2021 at Ave Maria, Jamestown.
Fred was born June 15, 1938, the son of Norbert and Inez (Cooper) Grabinger. He attended school in Windsor, ND and Cleveland, ND graduating from Cleveland High School. Fred married Karen Baumgartner on June 18, 1959 at Windsor. Fred worked for Bell Telephone, Peavey Elevator in Tappen, ND, Cleveland Elevator & Lumber Yard, and Wanzek Construction. After retirement, Fred and his sons formed Grabinger Excavating. He enjoyed his hobby farm, gardening, hunting and fishing. Fred was highly regarded for his problem-solving skills, especially while working construction.
He is survived by his children, Randy (Val) Grabinger, James (Kathy) Grabinger, Joan (Dwane) Wanzek; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Fred Baumgartner and Marvin Hoye; and sister-in-law, Lois Grabinger.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Karen; grandson, Josh Grabinger; sister, Betty Hoye; and brother, Robert Grabinger.
Mass of Christian Burial - 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 25, 2021 at St. Mathias Catholic Church, Windsor, ND.
Rosary – 6:30 p.m., Sunday, October 24th at Eddy Funeral Home with a Prayer Service to follow at 7:00 p.m.
Visitation – 4:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m., Sunday, October 24th at Eddy Funeral Home.
Burial: St. Pauline’s Cemetery, Windsor, North Dakota
