Dennis Lorenz, 75, of Jamestown, ND, passed away of natural causes during a bike ride Saturday, July 3, 2021 near Kensal, ND.
Dennis James Lorenz was born February 8, 1946, in Jamestown, ND to Edward and Agnes (Miemietz) Lorenz. He graduated from high school in Wimbledon, ND. Dennis married Elizabeth “Betty” Roller on September 21, 1968 in Sykeston, ND. Together, Dennis and Betty raised two children, Jasen and DeAn.
Dennis was a lifelong farmer and worked at R.M. Stoudt’s and Standard Oil. He also was a truck driver for J.P. Wiest, worked at A&T Supply, and was a Deputy Sheriff under Dave Orr. Dennis was the President, co-founder and member of the Special Deputies Association. He was also past president of the Stutsman County Wildlife club and served as the Stutsman County Park Board Superintendent, where he retired after 40 years. Dennis enjoyed hunting, riding his Harley’s, and above all, his family.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Betty Lorenz; son, Jasen (Joleen) Lorenz; daughter, DeAn (Al) and their children, Devin, Hannah, and Conner Tanous; brother, Donald Lorenz and family, Jeff (Kristy) and children, Aiden and Noah, Pam (Kurt) and daughter Makaelyn, Kevin and Travis; his sister-in-law, Lupe (Tom); niece, Denise (John); and step-brother, Phil Miemietz.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; brother, Dalton; brother, Melvin (Linda); nephew, Ricky Lorenz; and sister-in-law, Joanne Lorenz.

Visitation - 4:00pm to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at All Souls Chapel, Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown.
Prayer Service - 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at All Souls Chapel, Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown.
Mass of Christian Burial – 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 8, 2021 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown. There will be a 5 mile bike/classic car ride north of Jamestown after Mass, followed by a reception at 1883 Club.
