Willis Wooddell

Willis Wooddell, 90, Jamestown, ND died Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at Ave Maria Village in Jamestown.

Willis was born April 21, 1923 in Windsor township, ND, the son of Roy and CeCelia (Daugherty) Wooddell. He attended school in Moon Lake township, Eldridge High School and completed his GED in Jamestown. On April 8, 1944 Willis married Harriet Baenen in Jamestown. He farmed in Windsor township, worked at the ND State Hospital and Melland Implement Co. They moved to Jamestown in February 1993.

Willis served on the Windsor Shipping Association, Windsor Coop Elevator Board, many years as township supervisor, and was a life member of the Elks and Eagles. He was also a life member of St. John's Lutheran Church where he served on the council as a Deacon. He enjoyed reading and walking.

Willis is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Royce and Gail Wooddell, Tucson, AZ; two grandsons; one great-granddaughter; one great-grandson; one sister, Elga Weisgram, Lisbon, ND and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one sister, Evelyn Tompkins.
