William Hammer

June 12, 1959 — January 13, 2020

William “Bill” Hammer died on January 13, 2020. Bill was born on June 12, 1959, and was the son of Richard and Frances (Bachmeier) Hammer. After attending elementary and high school in Jamestown, ND, Bill traveled for many years, taking on a variety of work and exploring the country before finally settling in Fargo. Bill battled chordoma cancer the last few years, but he never lost his enthusiasm for life. He was an avid sports and music fan. He enjoyed cheering for the Minnesota Vikings, Wild, and Twins--whether they won or lost--plus the NDSU Bison football team. When not rooting for his teams, Bill sought new music to enjoy to add to his collection of favorites, such as Lynyrd Skynyrd and The Doors . He had an extensive collection from his favorite bands that was always playing during both easy times and hard. Bill is survived by his mom, Frances Hammer; his brother, Ray (Michelle) Hammer; his sister, Merri (Jeff) Mooridian; his nephews, Bryce (Holly) Neva and Michael Mooridian; and his niece, Chelsi Mooridian. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Hammer.

Memorial Service will be held at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown, ND, on Friday, January 17th at 1:30 pm.

Burial will be in the spring at St. John’s Cemetery, New Rockford, ND.
