William J. Dailey

William ""Bill"" John Dailey, 92, Park Rapids, Minnesota, formerly of Jamestown, ND, died Monday, December 15, 2008 at the Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids.

Bill Dailey was born June 4, 1916 in Jamestown, the son of William J. and Charlotte (Lee) Dailey. He attended school in Jamestown, where he graduated from high school. Bill married Lorene Crouse on July 12, 1943 in Glendive, Montana. Bill began working with the Northern Pacific Railroad in 1933 and worked as an engineer the last 30 years of his railroad career, retiring in 1979.

Bill had resided in Heritage Manor Assisted Living Center in Park Rapids since September 2004. He entered the Heritage Living Center on November 8, 2008.

He was a member of the Brotherhood of Local Engineers and a 72 year member of the Elks BPOE, Lodge 995.

Bill is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Roberta and Robert Larson, Wilton, MN; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Sharon Dailey, Park Rapids, MN; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorene, in 1992; and three sisters.

Funeral Mass: 1:30 PM, Friday, December 19, 2008 at the Basilica of St. James in Jamestown with Father Al Bitz officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 7:00 PM, Thursday, December 18, 2008 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown.

Vigil: 7:00 PM, Thursday, December 18, 2008 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
