Wayne Earl Bird

Wayne E. Bird, 87, of Jamestown, North Dakota, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, March 8th, 2017. Visitation is at 1:00pm and Funeral Services at 2:00 pm at the 1st Assembly of God Church in Jamestown on Monday, March 13, 2017.

Wayne was born April 27, 1929 in Miles City, Montana. He served in the US Navy for 4 years, where he was a photographer and camera repair man. He then attended Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana where he received two BS degrees in Agricultural engineering and economics in 1956. While studying in Bozeman he met the love of his life Rosanne Barnick whom he married on March 23rd, 1958 in Jamestown, North Dakota.

He resided in Fargo, North Dakota where he worked for JI Case until 1961. He moved to Jamestown and was the branch manager for PCA for 24 years. He retired at age 55 and traveled with Rosanne to many places. In his later years, he spent winters in Cameron, Missouri to be closer to his family. He is survived by his wife Rosanne of Jamestown, ND/Cameron, Mo, two sons David (Linda) of Blue Springs, MO, Dale (Deanna) of Dorchester, NE and one daughter Roxanna of Monticello, MN.

He was known as “Papa Wayne” to seven grandchildren. He also leaves several nieces and nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents (Raymond and Julia) 4 brothers (Rodney, Lyle, Raleigh, Harold) and two nephews (Steve, Richard).

He will be remembered as a kind man that exuded happiness all the time and unconditional love to everyone.
