Walter F. Robyt

Walter Frederick Robyt, 85, Jamestown, ND, went to be with his Lord on August 28, 2011 at Ave Maria Village in Jamestown.

Walter was born in Glover, ND on July 23, 1926, the son of August and Elizabeth (Domine) Robyt. He moved to Eldridge, ND with his parents, where they farmed. Walter attended Eldridge High School graduating in 1944. He was a member of the Eldridge basketball team. On May 26, 1948 Walter married Elsie M. Schielke at the Lutheran church in Eldridge. They made their home on the family farm. Walter farmed with his parents and later with their son, Michael. He raised wheat, sunflowers, barley and flax. He retired from farming and moved to Jamestown in 2003.

Walter was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown, where he was baptized and confirmed. He was a member of the Jamestown Eagles Club, Director and Vice-President of the Eldridge Elevator Board, member of the Eldridge School Board and was Eldridge township treasurer for many years.

Walter enjoyed farming and seeing the crops grow, fishing and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Walter is survived by his wife of 63 years, Elsie, Jamestown; two daughters, Yvonne (Arnie) Becker, Carol (Allen) Dolliver and one son, Michael (Dorothy) Robyt, all of Jamestown; six grandsons, Jarred (Jennifer) Gasal, Greg Gasal, Jeffery Dolliver, Loren (Courtenay) Dolliver, Todd Robyt, Doug (Sarah) Robyt; one granddaughter, Lisa Robyt Roberg, 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Aaron Dolliver.
