Walter Morlock

Walter Morlock, 79, Medina, North Dakota died Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd in New Rockford, North Dakota.

Walter was born May 13, 1925 in Wells County, North Dakota the son of Christian and Mathilda (Winter) Morlock. He was baptized on November 4, 1937. Walter grew up and attended school in the Wells County area. He married Leona Kahler on November 14, 1947 in Sykeston, North Dakota. They farmed in Wells County, south of Heaton, ND, until 1956 when they moved south of Medina. They farmed until their retirement in 2000 when they moved into Medina.

Walter was a member of the English Lutheran Church in Medina where he served on the church council for many years, the Streeter Oil Company board and he was the township clerk treasurer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards.

Walter is survived by his wife, Leona of Medina, five children, Sharlene Blaine, Lincoln, NE; Myron (Donna) Morlock, Pierre, SD; Sylvia (Ray) Heupel, Cavalier, ND; Jeffrey (Linda) Morlock, Medina and Brenda (Douglas) Theisen, Grand Forks, ND, 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Elsie (Lawrence) Ruetter, Carrington, ND and Ellen (Clarence) Neumiller, Vancouver, WA.

He was preceded in death by his parents and nine brothers, two in infancy.

Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Monday, May 2, 2005 at the English Lutheran Church in Medina with the Rev. Robert Pestal officiating.

Visitation: 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Saturday, April 30, 2005 and 1:00 to 8:00 PM, Sunday, May 1, 2005 at the Eddy Funeral Home.

Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Sunday, May 1, 2005 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel.

Burial: Medina Cemetery, Medina, North Dakota.
