Virginia ""Sally"" Brastrup, 75, Jamestown, North Dakota died Tuesday, April 19,2005 at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Center in Jamestown.

Virginia Mae McGillivray was born November 30, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Howard and Marion (Kalbfleisch) McGillivray. She grew up in Jamestown and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1947. She married Dwight Robert (Bob) Brastrup on June 12, 1951. She worked as a proof reader at the Jamestown Sun for seven years and at the Colorado Springs, Colorado newspaper while her husband was stationed at Ft. Carson Army base. Sally and her husband owned Gun and Reel Sports in partnership with Jerome and Edna Docktor from 1953 to 1978, when they retired due to her husband's illness. He died in 1978. She was employed by the Jamestown Parks and Recreation Department from 1980 to 1999. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Jamestown and served as a deacon for several years.

Sally is survived by a daughter, Jeri Krueger, Las Vegas, NV and a son, Douglas Brastrup, Jamestown; two sisters, Patricia (Frayne) Peterson, Moorhead, MN and Kathleen (Allen) Graves, Jamestown and three brothers, Jack (Caroline) McGillivray, Grant's Pass, OR; James (Vidie) McGillivray, Cuba City, WI and Michael McGillivray, Jamestown.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a sister, Jeanne.

Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Friday, April 22, 2005 at the United Presbyterian Church with Pastor David Thompson officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, April 21, 2005 at the Eddy Funeral Home.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
