Viola Himmelspach

Viola Himmelspach, 84, of Jamestown, ND, died Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center. Viola Hoffman was born on December 16, 1929, in Oliver County, ND, the daughter of John and Eleanor (Scheetz) Hoffman. She grew up in Oliver County and graduated from Center High School, Center, ND. Viola married Michael Himmelspach on June 26, 1950 at St. Martin's Catholic Church, Center. They made their home in Mandan, ND where she worked for JC Penney's. In 1970, they moved to Jamestown and Viola worked for the Jamestown Sun and also helped with the family business of Mike and Vi's Bait Shop and meat processing. Her passions were being with family, visiting, music, baking, cooking, reading, gardening, fishing, and needlework. Viola was a member of St. James Basilica. She was a joy to all those who were blessed to know and love her and will be dearly missed. Left with wonderful memories of her life are: her daughter, Joyce Barrick, Hutchinson, MN; son, Richard (Angie), Rapid City, SD; son, Gary, Mandan, ND; daughter, Michele (Mark) Curtis, Jamestown, ND; son, Robert, Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Mary (Kevin) Nelson, Bismarck, ND; daughter, Becky (John) Martin, Idaho Falls, ID; 11 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Frances Kary, Bismarck, ND and Beverly Moon, Rossville, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law, James Barrick; 3 sisters, Cecilia Hatzenbihler, Betty Hatzenbihler, and Jeanette Brown; and brothers-in-law.

Eucharist of Christian Burial: 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 4, 2014 at St. James Basilica in Jamestown, ND.
Vigil: 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 3, 2014 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown.
Visitation: 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday, January 3, 2014 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.
Interment: Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown, ND.
