Vicki R Laraway

Vicki R. Laraway, age 71, of West Fargo, North Dakota, and formerly of Jamestown, ND, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025, at Essentia Health in Fargo. She was born on February 25, 1954, in Jamestown, North Dakota, to Harry and Jeane (MacDonald) Mason.

Vicki was a proud graduate of Jamestown High School, finishing in the class of 1972. She pursued higher education at Jamestown College, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in 1975, and furthered her training at Creighton Medical Technology School, graduating in 1976. Vicki dedicated her career to the field of medicine as a Medical Technologist, working at the Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis, Altru in Grand Forks, TNI in Fargo, and Dakota Clinic in Jamestown.

On March 12, 1977, she married her childhood sweetheart, Richard Laraway, at the Presbyterian Church in Jamestown. Their love story began on New Years Eve when they were just 15 years old, blossoming from friendship into a beautiful partnership that spanned 55 New Years and 48 cherished years of marriage. In 2005, they made their home in West Fargo, where Vicki continued her career, working at Sanford and culminating in her retirement from IMA in 2019.

Vicki possessed a true passion for culinary arts, a skill she lovingly honed under her Mother’s guidance. Her creativity extended to sewing, quilting and gardening. An active member of her community, Vicki loved participating in PEO, serving as President of the Jamestown and Fargo Chapters, and contributing to the Session and Worship Committee at Frist Presbyterian Church of Fargo. Always a very active person, she was an avid walker and attended Dance Attack group fitness classes at Total Balance, where she became a beloved member of that community, as well.

Above all, Vicki treasured her role as a grandmother, finding boundless joy in her two grandchildren, Theo and Lucy.

Vicki is survived by her devoted husband, Richard Laraway; children, Danny Laraway, New York City, NY; Mark (Megan) Laraway, Horace, ND; grandchildren, Theo and Lucy Laraway; siblings; Pegi (Hal Ecker) and Greg (Amy).

She was preceded in death by her parents.
