Vernon Norman Reich, 89, Jamestown, ND passed away Friday, February 22, 2019 at Eventide Jamestown.
Vernon Reich was born on December 11, 1929 in Medina, ND. He is the son of Jacob and Pauline (Gruszie) Reich, and step-son of Marie (Ruff) Reich.
Vernon married Norma Jean Miller on June 27, 1987 at the Leroy and Velma Roeske farm. Vern and Norma made their home in Jamestown ever since. Vernon and Norma were longtime members of the First Assembly of God Church in Jamestown. He was also a member of the United Methodist Church in Fargo for many years.
Vernon was a proud employee of the Boeing Company, Steiger Tractor, and finally Haybuster (Dura Tech Industries) when he retired. Vern enjoyed rodeos, farm shows, toy tractor collecting, tinkering around the house, and most of all, being “Bumpa” to his close neighbors and beloved family friends, Jerry and Joan (Halvorson) Rudnick, and their daughter Jenna.
Vernon is survived by his son Norman Jacob Reich, (mother Maxine McDaniel) and daughter-in-law Kristina (Phelps) of Colorado Springs, CO; sisters Adeline (James) Buchanan, Minneapolis, MN, Naomi (Richard) Swenningson, Bismarck, ND; brother Elmer (Linda) Reich, Grants Pass, OR. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Harley (Carol) Reich, sisters Lorraine (John) Gross and Inez (Ervin) Krause, and his beloved wife Norma.
In lieu of flowers, all gifts are to be donated to the First Assembly of God Church, Jamestown.
Visitation will be 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Eddy Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Friday, March 1 at Eddy Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Wiedenmeyer officiating. Burial will take place in the spring at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
