Sophie M. Doyle

Sophie M. Doyle, 100, Valley City, North Dakota, died Wedensday, July 9, 2003 at Sheyenne Care Center, Valley City. Sophie Borg was born September 19, 1902 in Green Township, near Valley City, the daughter of Henry and Amelia (Kjelland) Borg. She received her 8th grade education at Green School, a rural school near her home. She did housework for farm families in the area. In 1930 she married John Doyle, Sr. John Doyle, Jr. (Jackie) was born to them. John Jr. lost his life on August 11, 1953 in the Korean Conflict. Sophie continued to live on the farm. She later moved and lived in San Ramon, CA with her nephew and family. She then moved back to North Dakota. Sophie entered the Sheyenne Care Center in 1981 and stayed there until her death.

Sophie is survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers; Elmer, Carl, Ernest and Harold Borg and one sister, Helen Todd.

Funeral Service: 10:00 AM, Monday, July 14, 2003 at Eddy Funeral Home with Rev. Bryce Tahran officiating.

Visitation: 3:00 to 6:00 PM, Sunday, July 13, 2003 at Eddy Funeral Chapel.

Burial: Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Near Valley City, North Dakota.
