Shirley Peterson

Shirley Peterson, 86, of Jamestown, ND, died Thursday, January 9, 2014 at her home in Jamestown.
Shirley was born on November 5, 1927, in Wilkin County, MN, the daughter of Kenneth and Rose (Barsgaard) Peake. The family moved to Fargo, ND in 1929 and Shirley graduated from high school in 1945. On December 27, 1946, she married Marvin Peterson in Fargo. They made their home in Jamestown for over 50 years. Shirley enjoyed gardening and later worked for the North Dakota State Hospital as an admissions clerk and a floor tech. Her past-time was collecting antiques, especially dishes.
Shirley is survived by two children, Karen (Alvin) Alderman, Wimbledon, ND and Jerrold (Pat) Peterson, Bismarck, ND; two grandchildren, Thomas (Tina) Alderman, Fargo and Ryan (Steph) Peterson, Jamestown; four great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; and four sisters, Bonnie Kramer, Fargo, Mavis (Walter) Jerger, Rothsay, MN, Katherine Stading, Fargo, and Audrey Trisco, Moorhead, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Thomas and Keith; three sisters; and one brother.

Funeral Service: 1:30 p.m., Monday, January 13, 2014 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, with Rev. Kristina Weber officiating.
Visitation: 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday, January 13, 2014 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.
Interment: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, later in the spring.
