Ruth Odenbach

Ruth Odenbach, 61, Jamestown, North Dakota died Monday, August 9, 2004 at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown.

Ruth was born on October 12, 1942 near Plummer, MN the daughter of William and Anna Elsie (Stahl) Paradis. She grew up on the family farm near Plummer and graduated from Plummer High School in 1960. Ruth married Kurtis N. Johnson April 8, 1961 in Winnipeg, Canada. They lived in Grand Forks, ND where Pam was born, then in Edinburgh, ND where son, Jeffrey was born. They moved to Park River, ND and in 1966 Mark and Marsha were born. They moved to a farm north of Park River and daughter, Kelly was born. In 1978 she moved to Devils Lake, ND where she received LPN training, graduating in 1979. Ruth worked for Mercy Hospital, Valley City, ND, then at Lake Region Lutheran Home until 1985. She then moved to Jamestown where she worked fulltime for the North Dakota State Hospital for 18 years and parttime for Central Dakota Village for 14 years. She married Donald Odenbach on June 12, 1999 at the Basilica of St. James. She retired in June 2003.

Ruth was a member of the Basilica of St. James Catholic Church and was active in the Beginning Experience program with the Basilica. She was also a member of the Christian Women's Club.

She enjoyed gardening and photography.

Ruth is survived by her husband, Don of Jamestown, five children, Pamela (Steven) Gunn, Ewa Beach, HI; Jeffrey (Coreen) Johnson, Oberon, ND; Mark Johnson, Fargo, ND; Marsha (Allan) Hust, Jamestown and Kelly Johnson, Fargo, ND, five grandchildren, two brothers, Vernon ( ) Paradis, Milwaukee, WI and Stephen (Vicki) Paradis, Fargo, ND and four sisters,
