Ruth Hatlewick, 89, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Sunday, March 29, 2009 at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Home in Jamestown.
Ruth Eversvik was born April 14, 1919 near Hamor, North Dakota, the daughter of Nels and Agatha (Olson) Eversvik. In 1923 the family moved to a farm northeast of McHenry, ND. Ruth went to school for seven years in Calvin township, near Warwick, ND. In 1933 the family moved to a farm southwest of Warwick where she finished school in Lake Washington township, near McHenry. On July 27, 1938 Ruth married John Hatlewick in Jamestown. They lived on the farm until 1979 when they moved to Fargo. John died February 13, 1990. Ruth continued to lived in Fargo until July 7, 1993 when she returned to Jamestown.
She was a member of Immanual Lutheran Church, Jamestown, and the Sons of Norway.
Ruth is survived by three sons, James (Sharon) Hatlewick and John (Judy) Hatlewick, both of Jamestown, Ronald (Nadine) Hatlewick, Leola, SD; four daughters, Joyce (Earl) Schrenk, Ellendale, ND, Linda (Gary) Marks, Ypsilanti, ND, Beverly (Roger) Mickelson, West Burlington, IA, and Janice (Richard) Huebner, Jamestown; 29 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Edna Eversvik, Fargo, ND and Leanore Eversvik, Devils Lake, ND.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; five brothers; and one sister in infancy.
Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Friday, April 3, 2009 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Jamestown with Pastor John Syvertson officiating.
Visitation: 1:00 to 7:00 PM, Thursday, April 2, 2009 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown.
Burial in the spring: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota
