Rosella "Rosie" Haugen, 85, Cleveland, North Dakota passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Sanford Hospital, Fargo, ND.
Rosella Harr was born July 24, 1931 in Woodworth, North Dakota to Peter and Lydia (Bauer) Harr. She attended Paris Township Country School and graduated from Cleveland High School in 1949. Rosie lived in Cleveland from high school until the present. Rosie attended Valley City Teachers College, after which she taught at Paris Township Country School north of Cleveland. On June 15, 1950 she married Harold D. (Hogie) Haugen. Hogie died June 13, 1997.
Over the years Rosie was employed as a substitute teacher, special education assistant, and an elevator bookkeeper. She and her husband operated H & R Trucking as local over the road truckers for several years. She also drove bookmobile for Stutsman County Library for 16 years.
Rosie and Dwayne built a cabin on the Jamestown Reservoir in 1960, which she continued to enjoy, winterizing it herself, just two weeks ago. She treasured all the fun times at the Reservoir; her cabin neighbors were her lake family. She loved fishing, playing cards, and time with her family.
She is survived by her children; Tim (Beth) Haugen, Fargo, ND, Cindy Haugen-Ordal, Fargo, ND, Steve (Lynn) Haugen, Mandan, ND; five grandchildren, Nicholas (Kendra), Adam (Karissa), Cody, Caleb, and Colyn; one great-granddaughter, Greta; one sister, Marlene (Larry) Bischoff. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Wayne Allen and sister, Viedalla Prodzinski.
Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Friday, October 14 at First Baptist Church, Jamestown, ND with Pastor Mary Holtey, officiating.
Visitation: one hour before the service at church.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens.
