Rosella Sanna (Jorgina) Gwynn, 102, Jamestown, formerly of Woodworth, ND died Friday, August 22, 2003 at Central Dakota Village, Jamestown. Rosella was born December 19, 1900 in Appleton, MN, the daughter of Ole and Josephine (Johnson) Johnson. She moved with her parents to Woodworth, ND in 1911, where she attended schools. She married Chauncy Gwynn, April 2, 1924 in Jamestown. He was a rural mail carrier for many years. After retiring as a mail carrier, he was elected to the Stutsman County Commission for 12 years. Chauncy died May 2, 1977.
Rosella was a charter member of the Woodworth American Lutheran Church, where she was the treasurer of the Ladies Aid for many years and a Sunday School Teacher. She was a Charter Member of the Woodworth Senior Homemakers Club and she was the first club treasurer and a member for 50 years. She was a charter member of the Stutsman Co. Rural Letter Carrier Auxiliary and also a member of the N.D. Auxiliary. She and her husband were Secretary and Treasurer of the Gem Cemetery Assn. for 40 years.
In July 1995 she became a resident of Rock of Ages, Jamestown and later moved to Central Dakota Village.
Rosella is survived by a daughter, Alice Jean Pyle, Arvada, CO and a son, Curtis (Ethel) Gwynn of Park Rapids, MN, six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, (Alma Jensen & Hulda Athey) and one brother, (Donald W. Johnson).
Funeral service; 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 27, 2003 at American Lutheran Church, Woodworth, ND with Rev. Ellen Arthur & Candyce Wick, officiating.
Visitation; 1:00 to 9:00 PM, Tuesday, August 26, 2003, at Eddy Funeral Home.
Prayer Service; 7:00 PM, Tuesday, August 26, 2003 at Eddy Funeral Chapel.
Burial; Gem Cemetery, Woodworth, North Dakota.
