Rosanne Bird, 88, of Jamestown, North Dakota, passed away peacefully at the Cameron Quail Run Health Care Center on Tuesday, October 6th, 2020. Funeral services will be held at the Eddy Funeral Home on Friday, October 16th, 2020. Rosanne was born in Jamestown on July 14th, 1932.
Rosanne met the love of her life, Wayne when attending Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana. She earned a B.S. degree in Education in 1956. Wayne and Rosanne were married March 23rd, 1958 in Jamestown and resided in Fargo, ND. David was born in 1959 and then they relocated back to Jamestown where Wayne was branch manager for PCA and Rosanne taught at Washington and Roosevelt elementary schools. She drove a green Dodge Comet with chains in the winter that thumped loudly so everyone knew she would be arriving shortly. In 1961 Dale was born, and the two boys gave her quite a few challenges. Wishing she had a girl, they adopted Roxana from Costa Rica and the family was complete.
Rosanne is preceded in death by her parents Freda and Harvey Barnick, and her husband Wayne. She is survived by her brother Leroy Barnick (Thelma) of Jud, ND, two sons, David (Linda) of Blue Springs, MO, Dale (Deanna) of Dorchester, NE, and daughter, Roxana of Monticello, MN. Grandma Rosanne had seven grandchildren, Vashti, Savanna, Cheyenne, Eric, Corey, Makenna, and Chad.
Rosanne will be remembered as a loving mother and wife. She was a great teacher and counselor. Rosanne and Wayne were active in their faith in God. They enjoyed their time and fellowship at Church.
A Pink Flowering Magnolia tree has been planted in Rosanne's honor next to Wayne's White Magnolia tree.
