Rodney Doepke

Rodney Carvell Doepke, of West Fargo, ND Died Feb 8, 2019 at the Meadows in Fargo surrounded by his family. Rod is a Native North Dakotan born April 9, 1932 and raised on the Doepke farm near Wilton, ND. He attended McLean County Schools.
He was the 5th born of the “Original” 12, son of Oscar W. & Myrtle Martha (Carvell) Doepke.
On Aug 27th 1955, he married Doris Anne Zeamer, in Mandan, ND. They were the proud parents of three sons: Rodney Dean, Duane Arnold and Dale Warren. Later divorced in 1972.
Rod was a farmer, delivered bread in a truck, a proud Fire Fighter for the Jamestown, ND Fire Dept. He had 32 years of service, 1965-1997. Also delivered for Case/Titan Machinery on days off when not working at the fire department, even taking his son, Duane, on trips when he should have been in school.
Rod married Shirley Winje April 16, 1983 and together raised their son, Steve Weixel.
Rodney enjoyed, riding his motorcycles, camping, working in his shop, tractors and his dear pets Tuna, Misty, Mananja, and Toby. His granddaughters, Michelle & Danelle always loved to see the tricks grandpa taught his dogs and visiting the Fire Dept. tooting the fire truck horns.
Preceding him in death, his beloved wife Shirley, son Rodney Dean and great-grandson Caelan Dean Virtue. Brothers, Donald, Darol, Robert and Norman Doepke, sisters, Marlys Peterson, Myrtle Reimers and Beverly Hermle.
Rodney Carvell is survived by his sons, Duane of Clintonville WI, Dale (Peggy) of Jamestown, daughter-in-law Cheryl (Rodney Dean) of Casper WY, son Steve Weixel (Jennifer) of Minneapolis, MN. Brothers, Kenny (Serena) Doepke of Bismarck, ND. David (Jeannie) Doepke of Polson, MT. sisters, Shirley (Donald) Eman of Bismarck, ND. Audrey Pauling (Wesley Sauer) of Washburn, ND.
Grandkids, Michelle (Jeremy) Virtue of Douglas WY, Danelle (Jon) Schaffner stationed in Kings Bay GA, Christina (Casey) Rausch Omro WI. Peter (Tamara) Doepke of Lynnwood WA, Chloe Doepke of Jamestown ND, step-granddaughters Jessica Fargo, ND and JoHanna Stiem of Jamestown, ND, and many extended family members, cousins and friends.
Great Grandkids, Zack and Alex Virtue (Michelle), Jake and Waverly Schaffner (Danelle), Israel Hufstetler (Chloe), Alina & Joshua Doepke (Peter). Kayelynn Hanson (JoHanna). Liam Rausch (Christina)

Memorial Service: 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Jamestown, ND.

Inurnment: May 31st, 2019 at Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
