Richard C. Michaelson

Richard C. Michaelson, 80, Jamestown, ND, died Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Eventide at Hi-Acres in Jamestown.

Richard was born May 13, 1931 in Baldwin, Wisconsin, the son of Clarence and Esther (Shern) Michaelson. He grew up in Wisconsin and on November 27, 1951 he entered the United States Marin Corps. He was honorably discharged on March 3, 1952 and came to North Dakota. On July 1, 1955 Richard married Ruth Ann Boisjolie in Cooperstown, ND. He worked for several area farmers, grain elevators and a mechanic for a garbage business.

Richard is survived by his wife, Ruth, Jamestown; three children, Bonnie (Richard) Stevens, North Branch, MN, Donald Michaelson, Dazey, ND and Theresa (Greg) Gonet, Farmington, MN; three grandchildren; three brothers, Duane (Elsie) Michaelson, Dairyland, WI, Roger (Muriel) Michaelson, Tofte, MN and Dennis (Nancy) Michaelson, Backus, MN; and one sister, Norma (Russell) Larson, North St. Paul, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Ricky and Todd, and one sister, Nancy Campbell.

Memorial Service: 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Basilica of St. James Catholic Church, Jamestown, with Father Al Bitz officiating.
