Patti DeBuck, 90, of Jamestown, ND, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, February 25, 2026 at SMP Health – Ave Maria, Jamestown.
Patti was born on July 26, 1935, in Jamestown, the daughter of Berdeen and Jessie (Hubbard) Johnson. She grew up in Jamestown and graduated from Jamestown High School. Patti and Harvey were united in marriage on February 3, 1956 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Jamestown. They lived in Jamestown, then moved to the family farm by Ypsilanti, and then to Montpelier where they owned and operated the Farmer’s Bar and later the DeBuck Grocery Store. Patti worked as a cook at the Montpelier School for many years. She was also Mayor of Montpelier. When they moved to Jamestown, she worked at the Fair Store, Bostwicks, Dispatch for James River Transit, James River Senior Center, and volunteered for Ave Maria/Heritage Centre taking patients to appointments. Patti was a member of the Eagle’s Auxiliary for over 55 years. She enjoyed family, going to the Jamestown Speedway, square dancing, and bowling.
Patti is survived by daughter, Hollie Wegenast Emo, Jamestown; son, Jeff (Tami) DeBuck, Montpelier; son-in-law, James Beyer (Summer Boltz), Jamestown; grandchildren, Shawn (Devony) Wegenast, Kyle, Kiara, & Jalyssa DeBuck, Janessa Beyer, Kalsie (Matt) Gumke, and Arin Beyer (Bre Carlson); great-grandchildren, Willow, Wesley, Walker Wegenast, Tripp Nelson and Talynn & Turner Gumke; step grandchildren, Jessica (Jeremy) Tanguma, CO, Amanda St. Smith, CA, Jacob (Janelle) Emo, Lindsey Emo, Jamestown, and Dominick Boltz; step great-grandchildren, Joshia, Lucia, Hazel Tanguma, Storie St. Smith, Graham, Layne, Lyndin Emo; sister, Bernadette Anderson; sister-in-law, Marlis Headland (Bill Rickman); and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harvey; daughter, Beckie Beyer; grandson, Joshua DeBuck; great-grandson, Tucker Gumke; and son-in-law, Clayton Wegenast.
Funeral Service – 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 2, 2026 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Jamestown, with Lucinda Lien officiating.
Visitation – One hour before the service at the church.
Burial – Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, with a luncheon to follow at the church fellowship hall.
Memorial – The family suggests SMP Health – Ave Maria or HIA Hospice.
