Otto Hauf

Otto Hauf, 92, Jamestown, ND, formerly of Medina, ND died Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Ave Maria Village in Jamestown.

Otto was born February 6, 1921 near Woodworth, ND, the son of Julius and Pauline (Ferl) Hauf. He attended rural schools near Woodworth. Otto entered the US Army on July 27, 1942 at Ft. Snelling, MN. He served in the European Middle Eastern Theater during WWII. On October 28, 1945 he was honorably discharged and returned to North Dakota. Otto farmed in Gerber Township, west of Woodworth, until his retirement in 1973. After retiring, he moved into Medina and resided there until he entered Ave Maria Village.

Otto is survived by two sisters, Gertrude (Vergil) Neumiller, Jamestown and Frieda Hauf, Medina; two sisters-in-law, Elsie Hauf, Jamestown and Irene Hauf, Manitowoc, WI and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Emma and five brothers, William, Martin, Walter, Gust and Rudolph.
