Ottis Nels Fidge, 65, died Monday, November 2, 2015 at his home in Jamestown, ND. Ottis was born November 21, 1949 in Jamestown, the son of Stanley Fidge and Deloris Fidge (Flaig) . He had a 12th. grade Grammar education in Jamestown schools. He entered the United States Army February 15, 1967, and was transferred on December 1, 1969 to Fort Hood, Texas as part of the Fourth U.S. Army. Ottis served overseas in Germany and he received an honorable discharge from active service on February 14, 1973. Ottis re-enlisted as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army in August of 1976 and was honorably discharged on December 1, 1977. He attended Wahpeton State School of Science and received his diesel mechanic degree.
He was a farm hand and worked for area farmers in the Jamestown and Pingree area. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Ottis is survived by a son, Stanley Louis Fidge and wife Ann Fidge of Port St. Lucie, Florida and his step grandson Paul M. Mancini of Port St. Lucie, Florida; his mother, Deloris (Bill) Walsh, Jamestown, ND; three sisters, Madylin Newman, Gackle, ND, Brenda Kay (Randy) Buettenback, Julesburg, CO, Bonnie Schweitzer, Hill City, KS, brother, Todd Fidge, Jamestown.
He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley Fidge.
