Morton Pederson

Morton "Mort" Pederson, 75, Jamestown, ND, died Monday, December 24, 2012 at Eventide at Hi-Acres in Jamestown.

Mort was born May 2, 1937 in Minot, ND, the son of Melvin and Amelia (Fjeldahl) Pederson. He received his education in Minot, graduating from Minot High School. On April 1, 1955 Mort married Joanne G. Erb in Minot. They moved to Jamestown in 1960. He was employed at Schubert's Sales for 40 years and later became the owner and operator.

Mort enjoyed square dancing, fishing, bowling, skating and card playing. His greatest joy was attending and watching his children's and grandchildren's sporting events.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown Lions, Sertoma Club, Jamestown College Boosters, Eagles, Meals on Wheels, Quarterback Club, 25 years with the Jamestown Youth Baseball program and in his youth an active FFA member.

Mort is survived by his four children: JoDene Petersen, Jamestown; Mark (Wendy) Pederson and Miles (Sandra) Pederson, both of Weslaco, TX, and Matthew (Becky) Pederson, Jamestown, ND; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Chlea Sytech, The Villages, FL.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne in 2010; parents and one brother.
