May Pulst, 97, Carrington, North Dakota, formerly of Jamestown, died Sunday, December 31, 2006 at Golden Acres Manor in Carrington.

May Powell was born May 28, 1909 in Jamestown, the daughter of Jasper and Minnie (Miller) Powell. May married Louis Pulst on February 4, 1939. They farmed at Skyeston, ND until 1957 when they moved to Carrington. She was a homemaker and was head cook at Golden Acres Manor for eight years. In 1972 they moved to Jamestown where May was employed at the Anne Carlsen Center for Children for 17 years. Louis died January 1, 1981. She continued to reside in Jamestown until 2003 when she became a resident at Golden Acres Manor.

May's pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved gardening and especially her flowers. May spent many hours on her back porch watching the birds. Her best friend was her beloved dog, Scottie.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the Ladies Auxiliary.

May is survived by six children, Shirley Meyers, Fort Collins, CO; Charlotte (James) Erickson, Carrington; Dorothy (Duane) Most, Loveland, CO; Marv Pulst, Bellingham, WA; Deloris (Mel) Weisenberger, Jamestown and Phyllis (Louis) Tanner, Wrightsville, GA; 16 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one daughter; a granddaughter; three sisters and five brothers.

Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 13, 2007 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown, with Rev. Doug Opp officiating.

Visitation: 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Monday, January 8, 2007 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, North Dakota.
