Jean Willman, 97, of Jamestown, ND, died Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Ave Maria Village, Jamestown.
Mary Jean was born January 2, 1917, in New Rockford, ND, the daughter of John and Mary (Stange) Lorig. She lived in New Rockford with her parents and attended school there. When she was twelve, the family moved to Jamestown where Jean attended St. John's Academy. On July 16, 1935, she and Joseph Willman were married at St. James Catholic Church, Jamestown. They made their home in Jamestown and Jean worked for Woolworth's for over 25 years. She was a member of St. James Basilica and St. Catherine's Circle.
Jean enjoyed entertaining, gardening and flowers, crocheting and sewing, traveling, camping, and spending time with her family.
Jean is survived by her three children, Judy Williams, Vancouver, WA, Jerry (Janice) Willman, Jamestown, and John (Linda) Willman, West Fargo, ND; eight grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Daniel; one brother, Marcell "Shorty" Lorig; and one sister, Ersella "Frenchy" Peterson.
Eucharist of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 10, 2014 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown.
Visitation: 1:00p.m.to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.
Vigil: 7:00 p.m. Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel.
Interment: Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown, later in the spring.
