Mary Ann Victoria Will

Mary Ann Victoria (Auer) Will of Jamestown ND passed away at the age of 83 on Friday, March 17, 2017 at the Halstad Living Center, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley, following a brief battle with cancer.

Mary Ann was born in Albany Minnesota on January 18, 1934 to Albert Auer and Victoria (Heitzman) Auer. She was raised with 4 brothers and 7 sisters in Albany MN and later in Carrington ND.

Mary Ann and Dick Will were united in marriage on May 2nd 1954, in Carrington ND. They lived most of their married life in Jamestown ND. There they raised their 5 children. Vickie, Rhonda, Tim, Richard and Carla. Dick passed away in 1979. She married Lloyd Smith in 1986; he passed away in 2014.

Mary Ann worked hard her entire life. First as a waitress at Hillview bar and cafe, then as a cashier at Miller’s Fairway, and finally, at the age of 79, she retired for good when Kmart closed its doors for the last time in 2013.

Mary Ann was blessed with 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and recently with 2 great great grandchildren.

She is survived by her children Vickie (Bruce) Karstens, Clearwater, MN, Rhonda Will (Al Bender), Sibley, ND, Tim (Patty) Will, Athens TN, Richard Will, Owatonna, MN, Carla (Darrell) Torgerson, Hendrum MN. One sister, Marcy Schmidt, Jamestown, ND, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, March 21 at First Congregational Church, Jamestown, ND. Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM, Monday March 20 at Eddy Funeral Chapel with a prayer service to follow at 6:30 PM at the funeral home.
