Mary Himmerich

Mary Himmerich, 85, of Jamestown, ND, passed away peacefully at Jamestown Regional Medical Center, October 29, 2025.

Mary was born September 3, 1940, the daughter of Roland and Margaret (Murch) Bly. She grew up on the family farm in Erie, ND and graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1958. Mary graduated from Mayville State University in 1965 with a teaching degree and taught in Jamestown for 12 years. She started employment at the Alfred Dickey Library, Jamestown in 1972 and worked there until her retirement in 2006. Mary worked part-time at Wal-Mart in retirement for a few years.

In 1966, she married Larry Himmerich of Jamestown and they raised their two children in West Fargo, Valley City, and Nebraska. They returned to Jamestown in 1972 and remained there until her death.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Raymond; husband; and many extended family.

She is survived by her son, Chuck of Jamestown; daughter, Kristi (John) Morgan of Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Jacob Morgan, Fargo and Kylie Morgan, Fargo; cousins, nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service – 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at Eddy Funeral Home, with Pastor Erik Weber officiating.
