Mary A. Bump

Mary A. Bump, 69, Jamestown, North Dakota went to be with her Lord on Saturday, February 28, 2009.

Mary was born July 2, 1939 at Trinity Hospital in Jamestown, the third in a family of nine children born to Elric A. and Fern A. (Jones) Giroux. Mary grew up and attended school in Robinson, ND, graduating in 1957. She entered the Nurses Corps that same year, where she served her country at Ft. Sam, Houston, Texas for two years. She married Leroy Bump in 1963 and raised their five children on the Bump Family Farm near Eldridge, ND. Mary and Leroy had just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary shortly before he passed away in 2003.

Mary enjoyed arts and crafts, bird watching, church volunteer work, and her large collection of gospel music. Mary touched the lives of everyone she came in contact with and will be sorely missed by all.

Mary is survived by her children, Weston (Sabine) Baker, Farmington, MI, Dawn (Daniel) Jasmann, Jamestown, Perry (Mary) Bump, Prior Lake, MN and Steven Bump, Jamestown; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Glen (Dianne) Giroux, Sawyer, ND, David (Kathleen) Giroux, Sutland, MD, Daniel Giroux, Jamestown, Patricia Schuldheisz, Jamestown, and Rose Hoggarth, Jamestown; many nieces and nephews; special friends and loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three children in infancy; one son, Allen Baker; twin brother, Joseph Giroux; one sister, Julia Brown; brother, James Giroux; and one grandson, Michael David Jasmann.

Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Thursday, March 5, 2009 at the First Church of the Nazarene, Jamestown, with Rev. Richard Reynolds officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 5:30 PM, Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown, ND.

Prayer Service: 5:30 PM, Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel.

Burial in the spring: Buchanan Cemetery, Buchanan, North Dakota.
