Marvin C. Moser, 83, Bismarck, ND, formerly of Medina, ND died Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Sanford Health in Bismarck, ND, with his family by his side.
Marvin was born October 16, 1929 near Cleveland, ND, the son of Christ and Bertha (Zimbleman) Moser. He attended a local rural school and completed the 7th grade.
On February 20, 1952, Marvin was inducted into the US Marine Corps and served 2 years. During that time, he spent time in Japan. He was always proud to have been able to serve his country in that way and continued his dedication by being a member of the Medina American Legion. Every Memorial Day was spent participating in services and being a part of the Honor Guard that paid tribute to our fallen soldiers.
On March 26, 1954, Marvin married Leona Schlecht in Medina. They made their home on a farm 8 miles NW of Medina, and there they raised four children. Farming was his love, and he so enjoyed all the years spent doing what he loved. Marvin and Leona resided on that farm until August of 2013 when they moved into Edgewood Vista in Bismarck.
In addition to farming, Marvin so enjoyed playing his guitar, singing, and listening to old-time country music. Ernest Tubb was his favorite. He also loved driving through farm equipment dealership lots and checking out all the new equipment. During his semi-retired years, after he was done checking on Sherry and Doug's cattle and fences or feeding hay to their cows, he enjoyed going to town for coffee and visiting with friends and neighbors at the local café. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, as the grandkids and great-grandkids loved to come out to the farm and do what farm kids do.
Besides being a member of the Medina American Legion for over 50 years, he was also a member of the Medina United Methodist Church and also served on the Peterson Township Board for some time.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Leona, Bismarck; two daughters, Sherry (Doug) Kramlich, Tappen, ND and Sandra Graf (special friend, Gary), Bismarck; two sons, Daryl (Susan) Moser and Marlin (Lana) Moser, both of Bismarck; 8 grandchildren, Clint (Jonni) Kramlich, Tappen, Stacy (Steven) Eberl, Baldwin, ND, Matthew (Julie) Kramlich, Hettinger, ND, Darin Graf (special friend, Morgan), Deserae Moser, Haley, Marissa and Isaac Moser, all of Bismarck; 5 great-grandchildren; one brother, Eddie Moser, two sisters, Arlene Ebel and Bonnie (Willis) Hofmann, all of Medina; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
