Marvel Larson

Marvel G. Larson, 49, Jamestown, North Dakota died Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at her home, after a long battle with cancer.

Marvel Poland was born May 7, 1958 in Lake Preston, South Dakota, the daughter of Levern ""Bud"" and Faye (Andersen) Poland. She grew up in the Hayti, SD area and graduated from Hamlin High School. Marvel attended Lake Area Vo Tech School in Watertown, SD graduating with a degree in childcare. She worked for Harmony Hills Day Care in Watertown. In 1978 she moved to Jamestown and worked for her brother for a year. On December 17, 1979 Marvel started working at the ND State Hospital and remained there until 2006 when she had to quit due to health reasons. On July 10, 1981 Marvel married Daniel Larson in Jamestown.

Marvel liked horses, cats and dogs and enjoyed bowling. Attending her son's activities brought her great joy. She was always known for her positive attitude.

Marvel is survived by her husband, Daniel; son, Christopher, both of Jamestown; mother, Faye Poland, Jamestown; two brothers, Les (Lisa) Poland, Lambert, MT and Dan (Vickie) Poland, Jamestown; nieces and nephews, Ross & Rachel Bergquist, Josh and Kasea Larson, Brett Poland, all of Jamestown and Waylon Poland, Seattle, WA.

She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.

Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 29, 2007 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown, with Pastor Dennis Ellingsen officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 7:00 PM, Friday, September 28, 2007 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Friday, September 28, 2007 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota
