Martha Jolin

Martha Jolin, 88, of Edgeley, ND, died Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND.

Martha was born on July 27, 1924, in Venturia, ND, the daughter of John and Magdalena (Schlepp) Rudolph. The family moved to Edgeley when she was young and Martha graduated from Edgeley High School. She received a degree in accounting from Ellendale Normal College and worked for Farmers' Union Oil Co. for a short time. Martha married Harold F. Jolin on September 29, 1946 in Edgeley. They made their home on a farm near Edgeley where they raised grain and cattle.

Martha was active in the United Presbyterian Church in Edgeley where she was a Ruling Elder and Moderator of UPW, sang in the choir, and was a member of Ladies Aid. She was also a member of Homemakers and a bowling league. Martha enjoyed working crossword puzzles, gardening and canning, crocheting and cheering for the Minnesota Twins and Vikings. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren especially loved her apple sauce.

Martha is survived by three children, Kenneth (Diane) Jolin, Edgeley, Carol (Thomas) Kubis, Huntington Beach, CA, and Steven (Dory) Jolin, Pontiac, MI; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Lorine Scott, Hettinger, ND and Hulda Steinwand, Breckenridge, MN; a brother-in-law, Harold Ellingson, Edgeley; a sister-in-law, Marge Gleason, Edgeley; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Erna Ellingson.


Funeral Service:
11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 27, 2012 at First Presbyterian Church, Edgeley.

Visitation: 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, October 26, 2012 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Edgeley.

Interment: Mt. Hope Cemetery, Edgeley, ND.
