Marguerite J. Liechty

February 2, 1922 — April 19, 2010

Marguerite J. Liechty, 88, Jamestown, North Dakota, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 19, 2010.

Marguerite was born February 2, 1922, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, the daughter of Syvert and Margaret ( ) Edlund. She grew up there, the youngest and last surviving of nine children.

She met her sweetheart, who became her loving husband, at North Central University. She and Ezra Liechty were married June 17, 1944. They farmed in Brinsmade, ND, prior to moving to Jamestown in 1957.

Marguerite was a member of First Baptist Church, Jamestown. She loved music and sang in trios and played the organ. She will be remembered for being such a godly woman of strength and kindness, who thought the best of everyone and will be greatly missed.

Marguerite is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Ezra, Jamestown; two daughters, Jayne (Jim) Meyer, Woodbury, MN and Janet (Dave) Asp, Shelby, OH; daughter-in-law, Sharon (Lyle) Chellin, Grove City, MN; 13 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by son, Wayne; daughter, Carol Richards; son-in-law, Arlen Richards; five brothers, Ivan, Morris, Joe, Gordon and Kenneth; and three sisters, Kay Fossay, Winnie Rupert and Lydia Edlund.
