Margie Gleason, 93, Edgeley, ND, passed away Friday evening, November 20, 2015 at Manor St. Joseph, Edgeley.
Margie was born on April 8, 1922, in Edgeley, the daughter of Wilbur and Matilda (Anderson) Jolin. She graduated from Edgeley High School in 1940 and attended Valley City State University. Margie married Elmer Gleason on April 30, 1950 and they made their home in Edgeley where they owned and operated Pure Food Market. Elmer died on December 23, 1961 and Margie continued to operate the market for three years. She worked at Edgeley’s Security National Bank, the Credit Union, and then worked until her retirement in 1986 at the US Post Office of Edgeley.
She was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church, Edgeley where she served on the board for many years and as treasurer. Margie also served for the Presbyterian Women as president, secretary, and treasurer. She was a member of the choir since 1936, served as choir director from 1952 to 1980, and served as a delegate to Presbytery.
Margie served as past president of the Edgeley Alumni Association, 28th District Republican Women’s Treasurer, past director of the census for LaMoure and half of Dickey County in 1970, and past chaplain of National Association of Retired Federal Employees. She was amember of the Civic and Study Club and Progressive Homemakers. Margie also served on the Library Board, the school election committee, the Weaver Scholarship committee, and was the ND representative for H. Douglas Weaver Philanthropies from 1964 to 1995.
Margie had several interests, including being with her family and friends, music, church, cooking, bowling and golf.
Margie is survived by her sons, David (Mary) Gleason, McVille, ND and Paul Gleason, Edgeley; and granddaughter, Andrea, of Bismarck, ND along with three nieces and three nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three sisters; and four brothers.

Funeral Service: 2:00 pm., Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at the First Presbyterian Church, Edgeley, ND, with Bill Weispfenning officiating.
Visitation: One hour before the service at the church.
Interment: Mt. Hope Cemetery, Edgeley.
