Margaret Rose Marie Ripley passed away surrounded by loved ones on October 17, 2014 after a brief battle with lung cancer.
Margaret was born February 14, 1934 in her grandmothers farm home to Bertha (Davidson) and Samuel Stewart in Grenfell Saskatchewan Canada. She attended county school grades 1-4, Grenfell school grades 5-8, and high school in Whitewood Saskatchewan. She worked at the local General Store during the summers and high school.
After graduation she started work in Grenfell Saskatchewan as a local switch board operator for the telephone company.
It would be there she would meet her husband Kenneth Ripley. They were married in 1953. In 1955, they moved to Houston, Texas were Kenneth worked for the Robert H. Ray Oil Company. They moved around Texas, Louisiana, and New Mexico over the years. They moved to Pakistan for 2 years and Liberia for 2 years. They returned to the states to Dickinson, North Dakota and then to Jamestown, North Dakota in 1962. Kenneth Ripley passed in 1972.
Margaret did babysitting, a year as the Secretary of the Presbyterian Church, and then spent the next 40 years at the Jamestown Hospital working in the Medical Records Department. She retired December 24, 2009. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Eagles Auxiliary. Margaret loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was proud of all of them and loved them equally.
She is survived by her daughter, Terry Fritz, Jamestown, ND; her son, Gary Ripley, Bismarck, ND; her grandchildren, Aileen Fritz, Salem, OR; Shannon Fritz, Jamestown, ND; Levi Ripley, Bismarck, ND; Ericka Ripley, Jamestown, ND; Amber Ripley, Jamestown, ND; and Angel Ripley, Jamestown, ND, her sister, Alvina Hanson; Landley, British Colombia, Canada, and brother, Willaim "Bill" (Carol) Stewart, and her 6 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her husband, maternal grandparents, aunt Isabella, and her uncles Norman and Bruce.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at Eddy Funeral Home, with Pastor Bryce Tahran, officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Home Cemetery.
