Lynn A. Fisher

Lynn Albert Fisher, 81, Jamestown, ND died Thursday, September 19, 2013 at Eventide at Hi-Acres in Jamestown.

Lynn was born January 17, 1932 in Woodworth, ND, to Albert C. and Anna (Hochsetter) Fisher. He went to school in Paris Township until the 8th grade and then worked on the family farm. He was drafted into the US Army on January 5, 1954 and was honorably discharged on December 7, 1955. He served in Korea with the 25th Division Artillery unit called "The Lightning Division." After serving four months in Korea his whole Army unit was sent to Hawaii. After coming back from Hawaii he married Frances Viola Peplinski on February 18, 1955. He worked road construction and worked for William Collins & Sons Construction for 15 years. He retired from the city of Jamestown as a heavy equipment operator after 15 years at age 72. Frances died December 7, 1984. He married Hazel Wolle in Jamestown on August 30, 1985. He continued to live in Jamestown until his death.

Lynn was a lifelong member of the VFW. He enjoyed many hobbies including gardening, fishing, and making homemade wine for all to sample and enjoy. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

Lynn is survived by his six children: Susan Heimann, Loveland, CO, Dale (Judy) Fisher, Jamestown, Sandy (Paul) Azure, Wahpeton, ND, Douglas Fisher, Jamestown, Sharla (Doug) Gahner, Fargo and Sheila Michel (Mark Kruger), Jamestown; stepchildren, Joleyn Runck, Lamberton, MN, Dorinda Karls, Lucan, MN and Jefferey Wolle, Jenkins, MN; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Helen Suko, Garnet Perleberg, Lillian Spravzoff, Pearl Eck and Shirley Beteau; and two brothers, Ray (Lee) Fisher and Albert Fisher, Jr.

He was preceded in death by first wife, Frances; second wife, Hazel; parents; son, Dennis Fisher; and two brothers, Clark and Elmer Fisher.
