Lydia Goodroad

Lydia Fredricka Goodroad, 104, of Jamestown, died Friday July 25, 2014 at Eventide Nursing Center, Jamestown. Lydia Zimmer was born November 22, 1909 in Cleveland, ND the daughter of George and Christina (Metzger) Zimmer. She grew up and attended rural Cleveland, ND schools. She married Herman Goodroad, November 3, 1927 in Jamestown, ND. Lydia was one of Stutsman County's oldest residents. She lived in Jamestown all her life. She had a passion for roses and had beautiful rose gardens around her home. She loved baking and always had fresh bread made for whoever visited her.

Lydia is survived by her daughter, Phyllis (Don) Hoger, of Lake Shore, MN. Two grandchildren, Jeff Hoger, and Jeannie Boldt. Two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, (Harlan and James).

Funeral Service; 3:00 PM, Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Concordia Lutheran Church, Jamestown with Pastor Tom Eckstein officiating.

Visitation; One hour prior to service at the church.

Burial; Highland Home Cemetery.
