Luxton Brooks

Luxton J. Brooks, 92, passed away on February 24, 2026, in Jamestown, ND.

He was born in Cleveland, ND on December 21, 1933, to parents’ John Byron Brooks and Hulda (Kurtz) Brooks. Luxton worked on the family farm until joining the U.S. Navy in 1956. He served until his 1958 discharge. Luxton then worked various construction jobs between 1958 and 1968 including at the Big Bend Dam near Fort Thompson, SD. He then returned to the family farm where he worked and managed it until 1999. During the 1980’s, Luxton served as a supervisor on the Sinclair Township board. He spent his retirement years in Jamestown. Luxton attended Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and was a 52-year member of the American Legion Post #250 in Gackle.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Raymond (Lorraine), Leslie, Burnett (Daisie), Arthur, and Wilbert and a sister, Lucille (Charles) Kolberg. Luxton is survived by sisters-in-law Verna Brooks and Frances Brooks, a nephew and several nieces.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 20, 2026, at Sunset Memorial Gardens of Jamestown. Family and friends are welcome to join us afterwards for lunch at Pizza Ranch.
