Luella Kriedeman

November 30, 1925 — April 28, 2008

Luella Kriedeman, 82, Jamestown, North Dakota died Monday, April 28, 2008 at Jamestown Hospital.

Luella was born November 30, 1925 in Ambrose, ND; the daughter of Paul and Anna (Anderson) Hammer. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, attended rural school where she received her elementary education and graduated from Crosby High School, Crosby, ND in 1944. She married Ernest Kriedeman on December 20, 1944 in Towner, ND. They lived in various towns from 1944 to 1951 while he worked on the railroad. They moved to the New Rockford, ND area in 1951 and worked on the Lawrence Steinbach and Lawrence Linderman farms until 1968. They moved to the Kensal-Courtenay, ND area in 1968 where she worked as a café waitress and cook until 1979. They moved to Jamestown in 1980 where she was employed at the North Dakota State Hospital until retiring August 15, 1989. They moved to Spiritwood, ND in July 1981. Ernest died June 15, 2001. Luella entered Central Dakota Village in Jamestown on April 29, 2002. She enjoyed gardening, taking leisurely car rides and attending church suppers.

Luella is survived by three sons; Gary (Lynette), Jamestown, Lowell (Renee Peterson), Smelterville, ID and Ernest, Jr. (Barb Stanhope), Baker, MT; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two sisters, Tillie (Edward) Dobrinski, Minot, ND and Olga (Orvin) Ege, Crosby, ND; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Leonard (Lois) Jacobson, New Rockford, ND, Fred Jacobson, Carrington, ND; Carl (Betty) Jacobson and Martha Ambers, both of Battle Ground, WA; numerous nieces and nephews and a special niece, Kathy Waldo.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one brother, Sigrud; three sisters, Anna Henning, Agnes Sortland and Bernice Johnson; daughter-in-law, Kathy Kriedeman, brothers-in-law, Thorlief Henning, Rudolph Sortland, Arne Johnson and Lawrence Ambers.

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 1, 2008 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel with Pastor Dennis Ellingsen officiating.

Visitation: 4:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown, ND.

Burial: Spiritwood Cemetery, Spiritwood, North Dakota.
