Luella Boschee

January 18, 1926 — May 23, 2014

On Friday, May 23, 2014, LuElla Becker Boschee went home to be with her Maker. LuElla was born January 18, 1926, to Fred and Ida Becker in Geison, N.D. She grew up and was educated in the Lehr area. In 1947 she moved to Jamestown with her sister, Loretta, to work at the Anne Carlson School.

She was united in marriage to Edwin Boschee on June 19, 1949, at the Boschee farm near Lehr. Ed and LuElla made their home in Lehr, LaMoure, and Seattle before settling in Jamestown in 1962. In 2011, she moved to Sterling House in Sauk Rapids, MN.

Her life centered around family. The eldest of 8, who lost her own mother at a young age, she understood and cherished keeping family together. As a result, she lovingly took on the role of Becker family matriarch. This involved attending concerts, recitals and other events of nieces and nephews for a Becker grandma presence.

February 17, 1951, brought the arrival of her first child, Sandra (Sandi) and on April 8, 1958, a second daughter Roxann (Rox). The family expanded with the marriages of each daughter: Sandi to Jerry Bishop and Rox to Steve Ree.

Later two grandchildren, Danielle (Dani) and Mackenzie (Mac) Ree joined the family. How she loved these two grandchildren especially playing Monopoly and Old Maid, letting them win! She attended their major life events and life?s activities. On March 4, 2013, she joyfully welcomed the arrival of her first great-grandchild, Emerson Ann Armbrust. She took great delight seeing and playing with Em.

In addition to family, LuElla had a career in retail. She worked for 23 years at Bostwicks in shoes and women?s apparel. She enjoyed the many community connections she made while working.

Her faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life. She served as a deacon, elder, member of Presbyterian Women and a Sunday school teacher at United Presbyterian Church of Jamestown.

LuElla is survived by daughter Sandra (Jerry) Bishop, Issaquah, WA, Roxann (Steve) Ree, Rice, MN, 2 grandchildren Dani (Kevin) Armbrust, Albert Lea, MN, Mac Ree (Minneapolis, MN) and 1 great-granddaughter, Emerson Ann Armbrust.
