LouAnn Tompkins, 53, Jamestown, North Dakota died Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at MeritCare Hosptial Palliative Care Unit in Fargo, ND.
Lou was born December 16, 1953 in Jamestown, the daughter of Darrel and Evelyn (Wooddell) Tompkins. She graduated from Jamestown High School and attended Jamestown College. She worked for Don Wilhelm, Inc. and in 1977, Lou began working for the Burlington Northern Railroad in Jamestown. In 1979 she was transferred to Lincoln, Nebraska where she was assistant trainmaster for five years. On June 16, 1984 Lou was once again transferred to Greybull, Wyoming till 1989 where she was the head trainmaster.
Lou enjoyed riding her Harley Davidson motorcycle, camping, fishing and her dog, ""Buffi"". She was a big, big NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching the racing circuit.
Lou is survived by her mother, Evelyn Tompkins, and one sister, Denise (Elliott) Kabanuk, both of Fargo, ND; a sister-in-law, Kathi Tompkins, Jamestown; several nieces & nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Darrel, and one brother, David.
Funeral Service: 1:00 PM, Monday, July 9, 2007 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown, with Pastor Doug Opp officiating.
Visitation: 9:00 to 11:30 AM, Monday, July 9, 2007 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown and one hour before the service at the church.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, North Dakota.
