Lorraine E. Gallagher

Lorraine E. Gallagher, 88, Jamestown, ND died Friday, April 5, 2013 at Ave Maria Village in Jamestown.

Lorraine Estella Keller was born August 30, 1924 in Beulah, ND, the first born daughter of Willie and Clara (Heihn) Keller. She graduated from Beulah High School and then moved to Jamestown to attend Jamestown College. Lorraine married Duane B. Olafson on May 18, 1946 in Glendive, MT. They were later divorced, but remained a part of each others lives until his death on December 2, 2012. They shared one daughter, Bonnie Lorraine. Upon completing college Lorraine began working as a bookkeeper/office manager for many local businesses, eventually retiring from Jamestown Plumbing and Housing. Lorraine married Frank W. Gallagher on May 10, 1986. They made their home in Jamestown and during the winter months, Sun City, AZ. Frank passed away on July 30, 1998. Lorraine was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed volunteer work. In her retirement years she kept her mind sharp with crosswords, jigsaw puzzles and reading. She also loved to spend as much time as possible with her extended family and friends both in person and across the miles by telephone. Lorraine moved to Ave Maria Village in September, 2011.

Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Bonnie (James) Johnson and their three sons, Alexander James, Bryce and Cameron, all of Boulder, CO; four stepchildren, Patricia (Paul) Rodriguez, Westminster, CA, Mary (James) Breidenbach, Grand Forks, ND, Kenneth (Saichon), East Lansing, MI, David (Jeraldine), Cave Creek, AZ and Marlys Gallagher, Jamestown, ND; many beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Hope) Keller, Bismarck, ND; five sisters, Donna Carufel and Judy (Richard) Fockler, both of Bismarck, ND, Lucille Harju, Pittsburgh, PA, Arlane Kennison, Fountain Hills, AZ, Carol Melhoff, Concord, NC and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, five sisters, Doris Tidball, Phyllis Connolly, Marilyn Schuette, Ramona Meidinger, Elizabeth Fockler, and one step-son Michael Gallagher.
