Loretta L. Burkett

Loretta L. Burkett, 79, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Tuesday, April 19, 2005 at MedCenter One in Bismarck, North Dakota.

Loretta L. Ordemann was born August 31, 1925 in Des Moines, Iowa the daughter of Conrad and Lorraine (Emholtz) Ordemann. She attended school in Anoka, Minnesota. She married Edward J. Burkett on February 9, 1947 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. They have lived in Jamestown since 1947. Loretta worked at the North Dakota State Hospital for 25 years, first in the credit and collection department and later as a switchboard operator. She retired in the fall of 1998.

Loretta was a member of the ND Women's Bowling Association.

She enjoyed bowling, bingo, fishing, crafts, cooking, reading and spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed Christmas time and watching her grandchildren open gifts.

Loretta is survived by her husband, Edward of Jamestown; four children, Bruce (Beverly) Burkett, Bismarck, ND, Brenda (Ernie) Trudeau and Brent (Em) Burkett, both of Jamestown and Brian Burkett, Bismarck; 11 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild and one brother, Floyd Ordemann, Minneapolis, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son and one brother.

Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Monday, April 25, 2005 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tim Jenks officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 PM, Sunday, April 24, 2005 at the Eddy Funeral Home.

Burial: Dawson Cemetery, Dawson, North Dakota.
